Barclays’ Report Features HETS Data: Advancing Home Energy Efficiency Together

We’re thrilled to share that Barclays has utilized data from our Home Electrification Tracker Study (HETS) in their latest report, Electrifying the Future: Boosting the Energy Efficiency of UK Homes. It’s an honour to see our insights contribute to such an influential discussion on the future of energy-efficient living in the UK.

Barclays is demonstrating a clear commitment to driving the energy transition in homes. Their initiatives are setting a benchmark for the financial sector’s role in supporting sustainability:

  • Green Home Mortgage: Offering reduced rates to buyers of new-build properties with an EPC rating of A or B, incentivizing energy-efficient homes.

  • Greener Home Reward: Providing up to £2,000 to Barclays residential mortgage customers who install eligible energy efficiency upgrades, such as solar panels, insulation, or heat pumps.

  • Generation Partnership: Addressing skills shortages in the green energy sector by supporting training and development for installers.

  • Additional Schemes: Including various programs aimed at accelerating the adoption of sustainable home energy solutions.

We applaud Barclays for taking such proactive and progressive steps to support homeowners, installers, and the broader transition to a low-carbon future. Seeing one of the UK’s largest banks embrace sustainability with such comprehensive initiatives is truly inspiring.

At HETS, we’re proud to play a part in this crucial journey. Our mission remains to provide accurate, actionable data that empowers organizations, governments, and communities to make informed decisions for a sustainable future.
